Question 3(ii)
Given, A.P. 3, 8, 13,…
from given series, a = 3 and d = a2 – a1 = 8 – 3 = 5
As we know that, to find nth term in an A.P = a + (n – 1)d
we have to find at which position 302 is present in given series,
a + (n – 1)d = 302
3 + (n – 1)5 = 302
3 + 5n – 5 = 302
5n – 2 = 302
5n = 304
n = 304/5, which is not a whole number.
Hence, 302 is not a term in the A.P.
