This is the Important question based on Arithmetic progression Chapter of R.S Aggarwal book for ICSE & CBSE Board.
In this Question three consecutive terms of an AP is given you have to find the value of term(a).
This is the Question Number 1 Of Exercise 11 D of RS Aggarwal Solution

  1. Given 4/5,a,2 are
    Difference of any two consecutive terms in A.P is equal
    a-4/5=2-a
    2a=2+4/5
    2a=(10+4)/5
    2a=14/5
    a=14/2×5
    a=7/5=1.4
    Therefore,
    Value of a=7/5=1.4
