This is the basic and exam oriented question from polynomials in which we have given a polynomial 2x²+x+k and we have to find the value of k if 3 is one of its zeroes.
Kindly give me a detailed solution of this question
RS Aggarwal, Class 10, chapter 2C, question no 6
Given p(x)=2x²+x+k
x=3
Put x=3
⇒p(3)=2(3)²+(3)+k
⇒2(3)²+(3)+k=0
⇒2.9+3+k=0
⇒18+3+k=0
⇒21+k=0
⇒k=−21
