Find the value of k for which the system of linear equations has an infinite number of solutions: (k-3)x+3y=k, kx+ky=12

  • 0

This is the basic and conceptual question from linear equations in two variables in which we have given two equations (k-3)x+3y=k, kx+ky=12 and we have to find the value of k for which the following equations has infinite solutions

Kindly give me a detailed solution of this question

  1. Using conditions for consistency of equations,given system has infinitely many solutions if

    (k3)/k=3/k=k/12

    3×12=

    k=6 or k=6

    Subtituting in (k3)/k=3/k

    we found that k=6 is solution
