This is the basic and conceptual question from linear equations in two variables in which we have given two equations (k-3)x+3y=k, kx+ky=12 and we have to find the value of k for which the following equations has infinite solutions
Kindly give me a detailed solution of this question
RS Aggarwal, Class 10, chapter 3D, question no 20
Using conditions for consistency of equations, given system has infinitely many solutions if
(k−3)/k=3/k=k/12
⟹3×12=k²
⟹k=6 or k=−6
Subtituting in (k−3)/k=3/k
we found that k=6 is solution
