Area of a triangle formula = 1/2 × [x

_{1}(y_{2}– y_{3}) + x_{2}(y_{3}– y_{1}) + x_{3}(y_{1}– y_{2})](i) Here,

_{1}= 2, x_{2}= -1, x_{3}= 2, y_{1}= 3, y_{2}= 0 and y_{3}= -4Substitute all the values in the above formula, we get

Area of triangle = 1/2 [2 {0- (-4)} + (-1) {(-4) – (3)} + 2 (3 – 0)]

= 1/2 {8 + 7 + 6}

= 21/2

So, area of triangle is 21/2 square units.
