Without actual division show that the following rational number is a terminating decimal. Express in decimal form 23/(2³×5²)

This is the basic and exam oriented question from real numbers in which we have given a number 23/(2³×5²) and we have been asked to show that the given rational number is a terminating decimal without actual division and also asked to express in decimal form.

Kindly give me a detailed solution of this question

  1. Clearly either 2 or 5 is not factor of 23, so given fraction is in its simplest form.

    Also, the given fraction already in the form of (2^m×5^n).
    Hence, the given rational is a terminating decimal.

    We can written it as:
    23/(×)=23/200=0.115, which is the decimal form.
