The parallel sides of a trapezium measure 12 cm and 20 cm. Calculate its area if the distance between the parallel lines is 15 cm.

Some one asked me this question but i am not able to find the correct answer. please help me to find the area of a trapezium if the parallel sides of a trapezium are given as 12 cm and 20 cm each and the distance between the parallel lines is 15 cm.

    We know,
    Area of trapezium=1/2×Sum of parallel sides×Distance between them.

    Area of trapezium = 2h(a+b), where a and b are base and h is height.

    Here, a=24 cm, b=20 cm and h=15 cm

    Therefore, Area=215(24+20)=330cm^2
