Solve the following systems of equations by using the method of cross multiplication: 3x+2y+25=0, 2x+y+10=0

  • 0

This is the basic and exam oriented question from linear equations in two variables in which we have been asked to find the value of variables x and y from the equations 3x+2y+25=0, 2x+y+10=0 by using the properties of cross multiplication

Kindly solve the above equations

  1. 3x+2y+25=0...(1)
    2x+y+10=0...(2)

    From equation (1):a1=3, b1=2 and c1=25
    From equation (2):a2=2, b2=1 and c2=10

    Using cross multiplication method:

    x/(2025)=y/(5030)=1/(34)

    =x/−5=y/20=1/-1=1

    x/−5=1

     x=5

    y/20=1y=20

    Thus x=5, y=20
