An important and exam oriented question from linear equations in two variables in which we have been asked to find the value of x and y from the given equations x+y=3, 4x-3y=26
Kindly solve the equations
RS Aggarwal, Class 10, chapter 3B, question 1
x+y=3.....(1)
4x−3y=26....(2)
Isolate x from equation (1), we get
x=3−y
Substituting the value of x in equation (2).
4(3−y)−3y=26
12−4y−3y=26
−7y=14
y=−2
Solve for x‘
x=3−y=3−(−2)=5
Answer : x=5 and y=−2
