Question 25. In the adjoining figure, ABCD is a cyclic quadrilateral. The line PQ is the tangent to the circle at A. If ∠CAQ : ∠CAP = 1 : 2, AB bisects ∠CAQ and AD bisects ∠CAP, then find the measure of the angles of the cyclic quadrilateral. Also prove that BD is a diameter of the circle.

This is the basic and conceptual question from Chapter name- circles
Topic – Angle properties of circles
Chapter number- 15

In this question we have a cyclic quadrilateral and tangent PQ to it.

Also <CAQ : ∠CAP = 1 : 2 and AB bisects ∠CAQ and AD bisects ∠CAP,

Now we have to find the angles of quadrilateral. Also prove that BD is a diameter of circle.

  1. Solution:
    ABCD is a cyclic quadrilateral.
PAQ is the tangent to the circle at A.
    ∠CAD : ∠CAP = 1 : 2.
AB and AD are the bisectors of ∠CAQ and ∠CAP respectively
