Problem 6: Find out which of the following sequences are arithmetic progressions. For those which are arithmetic progressions, find out the common difference A.P (iv) 12, 2, -8, -18, ……

This is arithmetic progression based question from Chapter name- Arithmetic Progression
Chapter number- 9
Exercise – 9.3
In this question we have been given the sequence and we have to find out if the sequence is in arithmetic progression. Also ww have to find common difference.

      Solution:

      Now,

      a2  – a1 = 2 – (12) = -10

      a3 – a2 = -8 – (2) = -10

      a4 – a3 = -18 – (-8) = -10

      Since, the successive difference of list is same

      ∴ The given sequence is in A.P
