Sir please give me a detailed solution of this question as I find it little tricky as we have to calculate :
(i) The actual length of AB in kms.
(ii) The area of plot in sq. kms.
We have given a map drawn to a scale of 1 : 250000, a triangular plot of land has the following measurements, AB = 3 cm, BC = 4 cm, ∠ABC = 90
Book ML Aggarwal(avichal publication)
Class 10, similarity, chapter 13.3, question no 17
AC=√(3^2+4^2)
=5cm
Actual length of AC=(5×250000)/(100×10000)=1.25km
Actual length of AB =(3×250000)/(100×1000)km=0.75km
Actual length of BC=√(1.25^2−0.75^2)
=1km
Area =1/2×1×0.75
=0.375 sq.km
