Let s denote the semi-perimeter of a triangle ABC in which BC = a, CA = b, AB = c. If a circle touches the sides BC, CA, AB at D, E, F, respectively, prove that BD = s – b.

Well this is a very confusing question i really don’t have any idea how to solve this one, what formula or concept to use for this one language of the question is also very difficult to understand please help me to solve this question. Here the semi-perimeter of a triangle ABC is give to us as s and sides as BC = a, CA = b, AB = c. If a circle touches the sides BC, CA, AB of the triangle ABC at D, E, F, respectively, we have to prove that side  BD = s – b.
