In the given figure, the angle of elevation of the top of a tower from a point C on the ground, which is 30 m away from the foot of the tower, is 30°. Find the height of the tower.

  1. Use tan θ = opposite side / adjacent side

    here,

    tan θ = AB/30

    AB = Height of the tower

    tan 30° × 30= AB

    AB = [1/√3] ×  30

    AB = 10√3 m

    ∴ Height of the tower is 10√3 m
