This question is from NCERT Book class 10th Chapter no.5 Exersice 5.1 Q. 8(viii). In the given question find that the given series is an A.P or not. If it is an A.P then find the common difference and then give the value of next 3 terms.

Solution:
-1/2, -1/2, -1/2, -1/2 ….
Here is the difference of the above value:-
a2 – a1 = (-1/2) – (-1/2) = 0
a3 – a2 = (-1/2) – (-1/2) = 0
a4 – a3 = (-1/2) – (-1/2) = 0
Hence, the common difference is same every time.
So, d = 0 and the given series forms a A.P.
The next 3 terms are:
a5 = (-1/2)-0 = -1/2
a6 = (-1/2)-0 = -1/2
a7 = (-1/2)-0 = -1/2
