This is the basic and conceptual question from polynomials in which we have given a polynomial x²-x-(2k+1) and we have to find the value of k and it is also given that -4 is one of the zero of the given polynomial.
Kindly give me a detailed solution of this question
RS Aggarwal, Class 10, chapter 2C, question no 7
Given : −4 is one of zeroes of the polynomial x²−x−(2k+2) , which means x=−4 will satisfy it.
x²−x−(2k+2)=0
(−4)²−(−4)−2k−2=0
16+4−2k−2=0
−2k+18=0
k=9
The value of k is 9.
