This is the basic and conceptual question from polynomials in which we have given a polynomial x²-x-(2k+1) and we have to find the value of k and it is also given that -4 is one of the zero of the given polynomial.

Kindly give me a detailed solution of this question

  1. Given : 4 is one of zeroes of the polynomial x(2k+2) , which means x=4 will satisfy it.

    x(2k+2)=0
    (4(4)2k2=0
    16+42k2=0
    2k+18=0
    k=9

    The value of k  is 9.
