This is the basic and conceptual question from polynomials in which we have given a equation x²+3x-10 and we have to find the zeroes of the given quadratic polynomials and verify the relationship between the zeroes and the coefficients
Kindly solve the above equation
RS Aggarwal, Class 10, chapter 2A, question no 3
Let f(x)=x²+3x−10
=x²+5x−2x−10
= x(x+5)+2(x+5)
=(x−2)(x+5)
To find the zeros , Let f(x)=0,
then
either (x−2)=0 or (x+5)=0
x=2 or x=−5
So , the zeroes of f(x) are 2 and −5.
again
sum of zeros =2+(−5)=−3=(−3)/1=−b/a=(-coefficient of x)/(coefficient of x²)Product of zeroes =(2)(−5)=−10=(−10)/1=c/a=Coefficient of x2Constant term
