The question is Based on Equation of a Straight Line Chapter of M.L Aggarwal book for ICSE BOARD for class 10.
Here you have to find the equation of a straight line
whose inclination is  given 60 degree and which passes through the point (0, – 3).
This is the Question Number 15 Exercise 12.1 of M.L Aggarwal.

  1. Given,

Inclination of a straight line is 60o

    So, the slope = tan 60o = √3 = m

And, the equation of line passes through the point (0, -3) = (x1, y1)

Hence, the equation of line is given by

    y – y1 = m (x – x1)

    y + 3 = √3 (x – 0)

    y + 3 = √3x

    √3x – y – 3 = 0

    Thus, the line equation is √3x – y – 3 = 0.
