  1. Given vertices of the triangle are A(-1,3), B(1,-1) and C(5,1)

Co-ordinates of the centroid of a triangle, whose vertices are (x1,y1), (x2,y2) and (x3,y3) are

    [(x+ x2+ x3)/3, (y+ y2+ y3)/3]

    (x1,y1) = (-1,3)

    (x2,y2) = (1,-1)

    (x3,y3) = (5,1)

    (x+ x2+ x3)/3 = (-1+1+5)/3 = 5/3

    (y+ y2+ y3)/3 = (3-1+1)/3 = 3/3 = 1

Hence the co-ordinates of centroid are (5/3, 1).
