Find the 6th term from the end of the AP 17, 14, 11, …, (-40).

Given AP is 17, 14, 11, …,(-40)
a = 17, d = 14 – 17 = -3, l = -40
6th term from the end
= l – (n – 1)d
= -40 – (6 – 1) (-3)
= -40 – (5 x (-3))
= -40 + 15
= -25
