  1. (i) Given radius of the hemisphere, r = 21 cm

Curved surface area of the hemisphere = 2r2

    = 2×(22/7)×212

    = 2×22×3×21

    = 2772 cm2

Hence the curved surface area of the hemisphere is 2772 cm2.

(ii)Total surface area of the hemisphere = 3r2

    = 3×(22/7)×212

    = 3×22×3×21

    = 4158 cm2

Hence the total surface area of the hemisphere is 4158 cm2.
