Evaluate: cos 60° cos 30° + sin 30° sin 60°

This is the basic and conceptual question from trigonometry (trigonometric ratios)  in which we have to find the value of cos 60° cos 30° + sin 30° sin 60°

RS Aggarwal, Class 10, chapter 11, question no 2.

  1. Use  sin(90θ)=cosθ and  cos(90θ)=sinθ

    and  cos2θ+sin2θ=1

    Now,
    sin30cos60+cos30sin60

    =sin(9060)cos60+cos(9060)sin60

    =cos60cos60+sin60sin60

    =cos^2 60°+sin^2 60°
    =1
