We have been asked to find the height of a tower if the tower stands vertically one the ground. From a point on the ground, 20 m away from the foot of the tower, the angle of elevation of the top of the tower is 60•.

  1. Here, AB is the height of a tower.

      CB=20m

     Now, tan60o=AB/CB

    3=AB/20

      AB=20√3m

      Height of a tower is 20√3m.
