it is given that A man buys shares at the par value of Rs 10 yielding 8% dividend at the end of a year.

now please provide the solution with explanation to Find the number of shares bought if he receives a dividend of Rs 300. also cite the formula if u use anyone so that I can apply that in other questions also.

Q no. 11, exercise 3, ML Publication, share and dividends

Par value = rs. 10

Dividend%= 8%

A.I = rs. 300

N.s = ?

A.I = d/100x NS x Par value

By data,

300= 8/100 x Ns x 10

300= 4/5 x Ns

1500/4= Ns

Therefore,

Ns= rs. 375
