What sum should a person invest in Rs 25 shares, selling at Rs 36, obtain an income of Rs 720, if the dividend declared is 12%? Also find the percentage return on his income.

Kindly solve this question what sum a person should  invest in Rs 25 shares, If he sells at Rs 36 and obtains an income of Rs 720,
it is given that dividend declared is 12%.
we have to find  the percentage return on his income. please provide the explanation.

  1. NV = Rs 25

    MV = Rs 36

    div% = 12%

    income = NoS × div% × NV

    720 = NoS × 12/100 × 25

    Nos = 240

    Investment = NoS × MV = 240 × 36 = Rs 8640

    Now,

    Return % = (income/investment) × 100 = (720/8640)×100 = 8.33%
