This is the basic and conceptual question from real numbers chapter in which we have given two numbers 144 and 198 and we have to find the HCF and LCM of the given numbers by using the method of prime factorization.

Prime factorization:
144 = 24 × 32
198 = 2 × 32 × 11
HCF = product of smallest power of each common prime factor in the numbers = 2 × 3² = 18
LCM = product of greatest power of each prime factor involved in the numbers = 2^4 × 3² × 11 = 1584
