Sumit is 3 times as old as his son. Five years later, he shall be two and a half times as old as his son. How old is Sumit at present ?

      Let Son’s present age be x years

      Then Sumit’s present age = 3x years

      ∴ 5 Years later, we have,

      3x + 5 = 5/2 (x + 5)

      6x + 10 = 5x + 25

      x = 15

      ∴ Sumit’s present age = 45 years
