Find the triplicate ratio of (i) 3: 4 (ii) ½: 1/3 (iii) 13: 23

This is a basic question from ML aggarwal book of class 10th, chapter 7, ratio and proportion., ICSE board

In this particular type of question, we have been given a ratio in the form of the a:b and we have to find the triplicate ratio of it.

      Solution:

      (i) 3: 4

      We know that

      Triplicate ratio of 3: 4 = 33: 43 = 27: 64

      (ii) ½: 1/3

      We know that

      Triplicate ratio of ½: 1/3 = (1/2)3: (1/3)3 = 1/8: 1/27 = 27: 8

      (iii) 13: 23

      We know that

      Triplicate ratio of 13: 23 = (13)3: (23)3 = 13: 83 = 1: 512
