What is the best way for solving the problem of question no.2(1) of class 9th ncert math of Polynomials chapter of exercise 2.4 give me the best and easy way for solving this problem Use the Factor Theorem to determine whether g(x) is a factor of p(x) in each of the following cases: (i) p(x) = 2×3+x2–2x–1, g(x) = x+1

Use the Factor Theorem to determine whether g(x) is a factor of p(x) in each of the following cases: (i) p(x) = 2×3+x2–2x–1, g(x) = x+1 Q.2(1)
Share
p(x) = 2x3+x2–2x–1, g(x) = x+1
g(x) = 0
⇒ x+1 = 0
⇒ x = −1
∴Zero of g(x) is -1.
Now,
p(−1) = 2(−1)3+(−1)2–2(−1)–1
= −2+1+2−1
= 0
∴By factor theorem, g(x) is a factor of p(x).
