Sir please give me a detailed solution of this question as it is already asked in various examinations in which we have given two equations 2x+5y=1, 2x+3y=3 and we have to find the value of variables x and y from the above equations by using the method of cross multiplication
RS Aggarwal, Class 10, chapter 3C, question no 5
2x+5y−1=0...(1)
2x+3y−3=0....(2)
From equation (1):a1=2, b1=5 and c1=−1
From equation (2):a2=2, b2=3 and c2=−3
Using cross multiplication method.
x/(−15+3)=y(−2+6)=1/(6−10)
x/−12=y/4=1/−4
x/12=1/−4⇒x=−12/-4=3
y/4=1/−4⇒x=4/-4=−1
Answer x=3 and y=−1
