If -2 is a zero of the polynomial 3x²+4x+2k then find the value of k

This is the basic and exam oriented question from polynomials in which we have given a polynomial 3x²+4x+2k and we have to find the value of k if -2 is one of the zero of the given polynomial.

Kindly give me a detailed solution of this question

  1. If 2 is a zero of f(x)=3+4x+2k

    Thus,
    f(2)=0
    3(2+4(2)+2k=0
    =>128+2k=0
    =>2k=4
    =>k=2
