If α and β are the zeroes of the polynomial 2x²+7x+5, write the value of α+β+αβ

  • 0

This is the basic and conceptual question from polynomials in which we have given a polynomial 2x²+7x+5 and it is also given that α and β are its zeroes and we have to find the value of α+β+αβ.

Kindly give me a detailed solution of this question

  1. Given : α and β are the zeros of the polynomial 2+7x+5

    α+β = sum of zeros = –(coefficient of x)/(coefficient of )  =−7/2

αβ = product of zeroes=( constant term)/(coefficient of x²) =5/2

    α+β+αβ=(α+β)+αβ=−7/2+5/2=1
