Find the value of a and b for which the system of linear equations has an infinite number of solutions: (2a-1)x+3y=5, 3x+(b-1)y=2

  • 0

This is the basic and conceptual question from linear equations in two variables in which we have given two equations (2a-1)x+3y=5, 3x+(b-1)y=2 and we have to find the value of a and b for which the solution has infinite solutions

Kindly give me a detailed solution of this question

  1. (2a−1)x+3y−5=0
    3x+(b−1)y=2
    Since they have infinite no. of solution ,
    (2a−1)/3=3/(b−1)=−5/-2
    (2a−1)/3=3/(b−1)=5/2
    4a−2=15
    a=17/4
    6=5b−5
    5b=11
    b=11/5
