In this question we have to the find area of the
remaining part given that a rectangular piece is
20m long and 15m wide. From its four corners,
quadrants of radii 3.5m have been cut.
This question is from r d sharma class 10 maths.
I found this question while doing mensuration of
class 10.
I need help in getting the solution.
Given,
Length of the rectangle = 20 m
Breadth of the rectangle = 15 m
Radius of the quadrant = 3.5 m
So,
Area of the remaining part = Area of the rectangle – 4 x Area of one quadrant
= (l x b) – 4 x (¼ x πr2)
= (l x b) – πr2
= (20 x 15) – (22/7)(3.5)2
= 300 – 38.5
= 261.5 m2
