This is the basic and exam oriented question from polynomials in which we have given a polynomial 3x²+4x+2k and we have to find the value of k if -2 is one of the zero of the given polynomial.
Kindly give me a detailed solution of this question
RS Aggarwal, Class 10, chapter 2C, question no 9
If −2 is a zero of f(x)=3x²+4x+2k
Thus,
f(−2)=0
∴3(−2)²+4(−2)+2k=0
=>12−8+2k=0
=>2k=−4
=>k=−2
